Hotpoint WMFUG942 Door Issue

I'm looking for help with the door on my machine. The latch broke so I replaced the handle. Then the door wouldn't latch to a replaced the interlock

The door still will not latc correctly. Washing machine will not start due to this. No error code. Machine clicks 3 times attempting to lock but is then unsuccessful.

Is there anything else I should be checking or is it time for a new machine?

Thanks in advance

Hotpoint WMFUG942 door will not latch after handle and interlock replacement

The problem
On a Hotpoint WMFUG942 washing machine, the door latch had broken. After replacing the door handle and then the interlock, the door still would not latch correctly. The machine clicked three times trying to lock, then failed to start. No error code was reported.
Likely cause
The accepted reply suggests the door latch/handle spring was not fitted correctly, leaving the latch loose and preventing proper engagement with the interlock.
What fixed it
Check the door latch spring fitting and ensure the latch is not loose or floppy. The thread was marked solved, but no final confirmation was posted to state the exact repair carried out or that the machine was definitely fixed.
Checks to try

  • No error code reported
  • Door handle replaced
  • Interlock replaced
