Creda W220Vw Keeps Turning Off After A Few Seconds.
I have a Creda w220vw washing machine. When I start a programme (any one on the dial) it will run for a few seconds and then all lights go out and stops. If I turn the dial to off and back to the programme about 20 times it may eventually keep running and finish the programme. In between restarting the programme I have to wait about 10 seconds before turning the dial back to the programme again else the lights do not come back on.
The door locks ok and the door lock light comes on. It takes in water ok and drains ok if it manages to get to that part of the programme. It turns ok and spins fine when it keeps running.
I have pulled the machine out and emptied the drain filter, checked all the hoses. Looked at the wiring and seems ok. Can not see any obvious fault, but it keeps turning off after a few seconds.
One thing that may or may not be related is that for a while the machine has been repeating the final spin cycle. So it will do a wash and rinse and then keep repeating the final spin cycle, I have to manually stop the machine. Interestingly if I now manage to get the machine to complete a rinse and spin cycle it will finish the programme correctly.
Anyone know what faults causes this model to turn all its lights off?

That behaviour seems a little strange. If all lights go out and it stops it sounds like a power problem. Have you checked the wall socket and plug? It's worth plugging it into a different socket as sometimes they can go faulty and just a slight touch of the plug and it can go dead. Thanks for your reply. I have tried 2 other power sockets and the same behaviour happens so definitely not to do with the sockets. Plug is moulded on and looks undamaged, The lead grip into the machine is still tight and looks ok. So still stumped how to tell what's gone wrong.

An update on this machine. After some more fiddling with it, I decided to leave it alone and turned it off at the wall, while I decided what to do about it. After 2 days I powered it up again and the lights turned off as usual after a few seconds, I walked away for a while (about 1hr) went back and the light had come back on. Put a wash in and it completed no problems. How strange can a washing machine get. No idea if it will keep working. Maybe something managed to reset after being off so long.
It still sounds like a faulty wall socket or plug, mains lead or a connection in the machine. I've seen wall sockets that work OK but a slight touch or movement on the plug and it cuts out. If there is a dodgy connection it could cause sparking. Keep an eye on it and don't use if you smell any burning or strange fishy smells (which can be caused by the plastic inside sockets and mains plugs overheating).
