Beko Washing Machine Tripping Electricity At Start Of Cycle

Hi there,

Any help would be great. I own a Beko WM5120s washing machine. It has started tripping out the power at the beginning of a new wash. I put it on and the pump runs for about 2 seconds then the power trips. I am wondering if it is the pump that needs replacing? The first time this happened was at the end of the cycle when the water drains and it tripped then making think it was the pump. I have taken a look inside and there is no water leaking on any parts and I cannot see any loose cable that could be causing a short.

Any help would be great

Cheers

Tom

Hi, I have to point you to my article on causes of washing machines tripping or fusing electrics as all my thought out advice it there. You can't properly trace the fault without an insulation test meter. If it was the pump I wouldn't expect it to run for 2 minutes, it should trip it immediately. After the pump has run for a while at the beginning of the wash cycle the water valves are energised so it could be then that it's tripping. Read my article carefully, if you can't see anything you can only guess, which isn't a good idea.
