Hotpoint Bwd 129 Light 1 And 2 Flashing

This is so frustrating because this is exactly the fault I have and.... NO ANSWER! Help.

The same question applies, does the door lock light flash a number of times with a 1 second pause in a cycle, or just continuously without a pause?

Basically here is the fault -

Door light flashes at about 4 Hz

Delay start and Super Wash lights flash about 7 times in ten sec.

No amount of button pushing changes anything.

I've tried unplugging it for a couple of hours and plugging back in to no avail.

If the door light isn't flashing in a sequence the error code must be being indicated by the option lights but the technical information doesn't name any lights, it only shows LED1 & LED4 etc as described here - washing machine option lights flashing - If you can identify their numbers I'll see if I can find anything.

I see conflicting articles and Hotpoitnt are no help. their Live Chat doesn't seem to exist even though it's mentioned everywhere; phoning is useless because, after tow minutes of listening to options the "technical advice" option is always engaged. Their facebook advice is no advice at all, they are just pressuring me into calling one of their technicians. I think it's time to consign it to the scrap heap where it has always belonged. Worst bit of metal and electronics I have ever bought.

Is it a built in washing dryer? My book for Hotpoint BWD12 (which is the nearest model number I can find) says faults are indicated by a series of flashes from the mains or door lock and the program dial will rotate continuously. It then lists fault codes for up to 15 flashes. Other Hotpoint fault codes are indicated by displays showing F01, F11 etc.

It is a built in model but the door light is just a constant flash at about 4Hz.while the top two lights flash about seven times in ten seconds.

One of the problems with fault codes is that they use different methods of indicating them on different models (although fortunately most now actually display one in the control panel) and they don't always stick with the same error code across models. You can have the exact same error code that means something different in the same brand but different model.

The BWD12 I have in my book is a Hotpoint built in washer dryer with a control knob. If your option lights are flashing 7 times with a pause, and then repeating another 7 times, then it may well be indicating error F07. There are earlier Hotpoint machines where F07 means something different, but most modern machines use F07 (Including the BWD12) and many other Hotpoint and Indesit models indicates a fault on the heater relay - F07 error on Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines

Thanks for that. I think it's the scrap heap then because it sound expensive.

Mind you, I've kicked up such a fuss with Hotpoint about their lack of Live Chat, inability to contact their help line and lack of any comprehensible information and inability to answer my simple query on Facebook that they've agreed to send a technician free of charge to evaluate the problem and estimate a repair cost. Seems that it pays to get shirty sometimes.

It was all down to some dirty/corroded contact on the board behind the front panel. He took it apart, cleaned it and bobs-your-uncle.

Now, if only they had been able to tell me that this is what those flashing lights meant, I could have saved them the trouble!

And that automated telephone system is a joke.
