Ise10 Not Heating

Our ISE10 has not been heating for at least a year now.

While I've enjoyed the cheap washing and the results have often been excellent there are a few occasions where 60C is needed.

With the mess around ISE warranty I suspect I have to fix it myself.

Does anyone have any tips on fixing a non-heating ise10?

thanks

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

ISE10 washing machine not heating on any programme

The problem
An ISE10 washing machine was reported to wash only in cold water for at least a year. On a 95C programme, the water remained ice cold throughout checks during the cycle. There were no error codes and no unusually long wash duration.
Likely cause
Heating circuit fault. A thermostat issue was suggested by another user with a similar symptom on the same model, but this was not confirmed for this machine. The accepted reply only generally pointed to standard washing-machine heater fault finding.
What fixed it
No repair was confirmed. The accepted advice was to follow general heater fault troubleshooting for washing machines or have the appliance inspected by an engineer. The original poster later said they suspected the thermostat and planned to call a local engineer if the warranty situation was not resolved, but did not confirm any fix.
Checks to try
  • Ran a 95C programme lasting 2:05 hours
  • Drained a little water every 10 minutes to check water temperature
  • Observed water stayed ice cold throughout
  • Confirmed there were no error codes
  • Confirmed there was no excessive wash duration
Parts or tools mentioned
  • thermostat

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Thank you for the prompt answer.

I put the ISE10 on a 95C programme (2:05 hours) and was draining a little water every 10 minutes to check the temperature of the water.

It was constantly ice cold as if straight from cold water inlet.

No error codes, no extensive wash duration, just no heating of water.

Maybe the ISE10 is supposed to be connected to hot water inlet as well?

No washing machine doesn't heat up the water no matter what the temperature of incoming water is. If the heater isn't working use the link I posted to troubleshoot it or get an engineer to look at it.

Davotoula did you ever find out what your issue was in relation to the water not heating? We have the same issue and have had this problem before - which turned out to be a problem with the thermostat - that the engineer fixed (when the warranty was valid).Like you - we re impressed with the effectiveness of the cold wash - and only noticed the problem when I wanted to use the hot wash for bath towels. When we have a free weekend we are going to troubleshoot it :-)

Hello pj73,

we are still washing cold because I have been too "cheap" to call an engineer.

I am waiting "a while" to see whether the warranty issue is resolved. I still have 6 years of warranty (!) remaining.

If not I suspect it's the thermostat and will get a local engineer to have a poke at it.
