Samsung P1253 Error 4E
I recently changed the drain pump as the machine stopped working due to the fact it was unable to drain the water, there seemed to be a slight smell of burning, after checking the filter on the pump it was blocked with some material/cloth, this would have stopped the pump from spinning and I believe burned it out hence the smell. Now after replacing the pump (and it works fine) its left with an error code 4e, ive checked all the relevant fixes,"faulty inlet valve, blocked inlet filter and so on" but it seems that, whichever wash cycle you choose it only allows water into the rinse section of the drawer, so I wonder if the burning smell was possibly the PCB shorting due to the jammed pump. Can you help

Samsung P1253 showing 4E water fill error after drain pump replacement
- The problem
- After the drain pump was replaced on a Samsung P1253, the machine then showed error code 4E. The new pump was reported to work, but on any wash cycle water only entered the rinse section of the dispenser drawer.
- Likely cause
- Most strongly supported diagnosis is a water fill supply issue following the machine being moved or worked on, such as kinked fill hoses or a water tap not fully on or faulty. PCB damage was suggested by the owner but not supported by the accepted solution.
- What fixed it
- Check the water inlet supply first: inspect the fill hoses for kinks and make sure the water taps are properly turned on and not jammed internally. No confirmed component replacement for the 4E fault was documented.
- Checks to try
- Drain pump filter had previously been found blocked with cloth/material
- Drain pump was replaced and reported to be working
- Check fill hoses for kinks
- Check water taps are properly turned on
- Check the water tap valve is not jammed/faulty
Safety: Disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before any inspection. Work involving mains electrics, gas or sealed refrigeration systems should only be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

If there is a water fill error after moving and working on the machine the first thing to check is the fill hoses for kinks, the taps for being not turned on properly or even faulty (ie turn off and back on but the valve inside didn't turn back on due to being jammed)
