i have a hotpoint aqualtis washing machine i paid £460 only had it 2yrs 10 mths it wont do hot wash is it supposed to flash an error code

It depends how old it is but I'd expect all washing machines made over the last several years to use some form of error codes. Virtually all washers are now cold fill only, but if by any chance yours is a hot and cold fill machine then not doing a hot wash was usually caused by no hot water getting into the machine.
