Hi Everyone,

New sign up member here with a slight problem with my Candy Aqua 1000 washing machine as explained below.

2 years ago I bought and moved aboard a very nice narrowboat and I'm moored at a very nice marina.

The boat came with a smaller than usual size washing machine that has always worked with no problems.

Last week I had to stop the wash cycle early and ever since and now when the machine goes into spin mode it spins to start the spin cycle but wont pick-up and go to full speed.

Any advice appreciated, thank you.

Solution Summary

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Candy Aqua 1000 intermittently fails to reach full spin speed

The problem
Candy Aqua 1000 washing machine would begin the spin cycle but would not accelerate to full spin speed after a wash cycle had previously been stopped early. The fault appeared intermittent: it seemed to clear for about a week, then returned.
Likely cause
No confirmed cause was established. The accepted reply indicated there are multiple common reasons a washing machine may not go into full spin, but the specific fault on this machine was not identified.
What fixed it
No documented repair was confirmed. The original poster initially reported the problem had sorted itself, but later said the fault returned and they would revisit the earlier general guidance. Exact repair action was not confirmed.
Checks to try
  • Observed that the machine starts spinning but does not pick up to full speed
  • Fault first appeared after the wash cycle was stopped early
  • Problem temporarily cleared, then returned

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Not sure. It just seemed to right itself after a week or so but yesterday the problem returned so I will have to recheck your original reply link.
