Miele Hygiene Info banner notice?

We have had this model for just under 2 months. All washes have been carried out using the Miele TDos detergent system at 40C. A couple of weeks ago, the Hygiene Info banner came on. We then carried out a Maintenance Wash but the banner did not go away even though the machine had probably accumulated less than 20 washes in total since new.

We tried to get help/advice from MieleCare. This ranged from 'I am not familiar with this model', to 'we do not have access to technical support,' to 'run it empty on the cottons programme at 90C'.

The banner has now disappeared after I disconnected the machine from the mains for 30 minutes.

I have posed a few questions that MieleCare seem unable to answer:

1. the manual states that the Hygiene Info message should come on at the end of a cycle AND at the beginning of the next cycle. We have never seen the banner at the beginning of a cycle (including just before the maintenance wash)

2. if the machine is left running, the display goes dark. What is the recommended way of bringing the display back on? Pressing the Stop/Start switch just brings on FINISHED. If there is a banner such as Hygiene Info would this appear if the Stop/Start switch is pressed? I ask because Miele has implied that the banner problem that we have had might be because it was not 'Confirmed' properly.

3. where has this recommendation for a 90C/3hour wash come from when the machine has a dedicated Maintenance Wash cycle?

I would be grateful for any advice. It's a great machine but ........

Hello, as far as I can see the Hygiene notification is just to remind you to do a hot wash to help keep the washer free from bacteria.

"To maintain the hygiene of the washing machine carry out a hot wash (60°C or above) using powder detergent at regular intervals. The Hygiene info message will appear in the display to remind you to carry out a hot wash"

If the display goes dark I'd expect any button press should bring it back on, if it says "finished" when it comes back on presumably is has finished? It may still be doing the occasional anti crease drum tumble after it's finished.

Thanks. I have just found out that the 90C Cottons wash recommendation comes from the user guide for the cheapest range of Miele washing machines which do not have a Maintenance Wash cycle.
