Miele wkb120
Hi folks I recently bought a Miele wkb120 and I've noticed when the machine goes into a spin the drawer rattles loudly is there any way to fix this ? I was thinking of putting masking tape on edge of drawer to cushion and and stop drawer moving about so much but not sure

A Miele washing machine should vibrate and shake about less than any other washing machine so something is not quite right. Obviously the first thing to do is to make sure it is totally level both from left to right and front to back. There will be adjustable feet to ensure you can do this. If the washing machine is totally level it shouldn't really shake about much at all. I've had my Miele washing machine on full spin with a full load of laundry and loads of boxes piled on top of it and they never moved.
There are many different soap dispenser designs and they are usually designed to be fairly secure once closed. Either because it is reasonably tight fit or because there is a clip somewhere. Again, on my Miele washing machine I can see that as I close the dispenser drawer it has to overcome some resistance. It appears to ride over a plastic mound under the base and once pushed over it this holds it in place. Check to see if something has come loose all become worn as the soap dispenser drawer should definitely not be loose and easily moved out once pushed in place.

I have a W1 machine and summoned Miele when the drawer rattling started soon after I bought it. They changed the drawer but the engineer agreed that the fit was not good so I guess this is a design issue. The second drawer at least doesn't leak and if you apply light finger pressure the rattling ceases. I think Miele needs to think carefully about the immer besser`on their packaging! Rest of machine operation is superb
I would say the same as I did on my previous reply. If transit packaging is definitely out and machine is level I would say that it's unacceptable for a Miele washing machine and you should complain to them. You don't pay all the extra for a Miele washing machine for anything to rattle about like a cheap one.

I'm having the same problem with the same washing machine! And it's my 2nd machine in 5 months (the 1st one had a multitude of problems), but the soap dispenser rattling on the replacement is just as bad. Did you ever find a solution - besides the masking tape?!
Many thanks in advance.
The transit packaging has definitely been removed has it? If not (and it does happen) the suspension would effectively be seized up and all of the motion of the drum on spin would translate to side to side and the whole machine would vibrate and shake about.
If it isn't that then if by any chance it's on a springy floor it may vibrate more than usual but I wouldn't expect it to be so bad it brings the soap dispenser drawer out. I agree with you that the overwhelming majority of Miele washing machines are likely to be installed on normal floor boards and should be fine. You could try raising the two front feet slightly higher so the drawer would have to move slightly uphill.
I haven't seen your model so I don't know how stiff the drawer should be but if your old (presumably inferior) washing machine didn't have this problem it seems strange that a better quality one does.

Hi mate thanks for response one of first things I done was make sure it was spot on level which it is . However it's not on a concrete floor and neither is it sitting on a sheet of plyboard bolted across several joists( which I was told by Miele when I called and was also told by Miele if it's not and the service repairman comes out and can't find a fault I can be charged £117)I said to them how many homes in uk have a concrete floor ? The majority of British Homes are are wooden floors!. There's no resistance or catch to hold the drawer in place . The vibrations are that bad it makes the glasses in wall up board over sink chink and can see the machine vibrating side to side.I can also feel it through floorboard upstairs in bedroom . I'm unsure if it's a problem with floor or washing machine but I'm leaning towards washing machine fault . I never had this with my old washing machine which was a hotpoint 1600 spin 8kg
