Hi, I have a Miele Softronic W487 1800 rpm spin speed which no longer spins and by the sound the drum makes when it is turned manually needs new bearings, does anyone know how much this would cost? Thanks.

If it doesn't spin and the drum bearings are noisy that's normally 2 separate faults. However, if drum bearings have collapsed this can throw the drive belt off at the back and that can account for both symptoms. The drum bearings would have had to have been very noisy for a long time before the collapse. If they haven't collapsed and there isn't a great deal of up-and-down play and the drum shaft and the belt is still fitted then you have 2 separate faults. The drum bearings is one thing, but the not spinning could be caused by many different things. If it is quite old it might be better to replace it. Some of the spare part prices for older Miele's can be horrendously expensive.
