Miele W360 Lights
I have recently aquired a s/h Miele W360 washer. It runs perfectly except when I open the door the
back-light to the program knob goes out and comes back on after a couple of seconds.
This doesn't bother me but I am concerned that the door release solenoid actuating is pulling the electronics supply rail voltage down. I am concerned that it could stress the EXPENSIVE electronics!
Miele tell me that the light should not extinguish.

Hello Michael, I have to advise if you are concerned to get it checked out, but if it fades out and back in with no flicker it does sound more controlled than dodgy. It's possible it could be designed to do this, but if you spoke to a proper technical support engineer at Miele then maybe he knows what he's talking about. Sometimes people on the phone aren't 100% knowledgable though. I've heard of some Miele washing machines where the light does go out when the door is opened. This one I can't say for certain though so unfortunately the ball is still with you.

Yes it would be nice if someone has the same model or range and said what theirs does. I also would expect a flickering and dimming if it was a dodgy connection. It sounds more controlled from what you describe.

Someone suggested that I may have a poor earth connection and this makes sense. A heavy current
surge through the solenoid could extinguish the dial backlight although I would expect it to merely dim.
I think the 7 seg led is meant to extinguish though.
I was hoping another machine owner might comment on what happens to their machine.
