Is it definitely supposed to? If it is and doesn't you'd need to report it as a fault under warranty.

Thanks for the reply. All sorted under warranty - it was a failed magnetic reid door switch. A bit sad that it was failed with out being used once. Even the Miele repairer wasn’t sure in the beginning.
