My Samsung SW50USP top load washing machine is not filling up. The water supply has enough pressure and I cleaned the filters already. I tried checking the voltage at the water valve solenoid but there is no voltage.
Next, I thought the problem might be coming from the pressure switch but when I fill up the machine manually with water, the cycle continue to operate normally so it makes me think that the pressure switch is functional.
Unfortunately, I don't have a continuity meter to test the solenoid as advised in the troubleshooting guide, do you think it's worth investigating deeper an issue with both the solenoids even though there isn't any voltage coming to them once the washing cycle is activated?

If it was the pressure switch I would expect it to not spin or to start washing with no water inside. That’s because if it was stuck “on”, it would think there’s already water inside. Therefore it wouldn’t take any water in. But if it thinks it already has water inside it would also wash with phantom water and refuse to spin because it can’t spin with water inside.
It’s rare for water valves to get no power at all. Does it take any water in on rinses or the last rinse where it would normally also take in fabric softener?

I checked again but it doesn't take any water at any stages, even during the different rinses. I also checked the voltage during the rinses but it's staying at 0V the whole time.
I got the washing machine second hand and I noticed a plastic covering part of the cabling as in the picture attached. Do you think this is original?
I can't tell from the pic. Can you see underneath the plastic?
When you put the washing machine onto a fill cycle (say no fast coloured), exactly what does it do? I appreciate it doesn't fill, but does it make any other noises? If you leave it not filling for about 10 minutes does it time out and give an error code? It should do unless a very old washing machine.
I'm thinking that if it starts up and works normally if you manually add water then it implies that the pcb is happily trying to do a wash cycle and supplying power to the valves but the power isn't getting there. You would need to disconnect the washer from the mains and then take off the wires from the water valves and physically trace them all the way back to where they go checking for any damage or breaks. Then test down each wire with a continuity meter to see if power could run through from one end to the other.

Yes I can see underneath the plastic.
No i doesn't make any other noises and yes it gives an error code 4E which get resolved when I start filling up the machine manually.

OK. 4E error on my Samsung error codes list is "water supply error" which chimes with the symptoms.
