Hotpoint WT540 washer stopping mid-wash

Hi, I am hoping someone can give me some guidance. I have a Hotpoint WT540 washer, which is now stopping mid-wash, and displaying two flashing lights on the vertical indicator (position 2 and 4 - whichever way you read it - there are horizontal lights too, but these don't come on - wouldn't a fault be indicated on these?)). I have interpreted this (possibly wrongly?) as fault 10, pressure sensor / valve. I have replaced the sensor, and as far as possible checked the hose to it (I have blown down it, and can hear water bubbling, and I have pinched the very bottom of it, and can not find a leak or split on it when blowing again).

Oh, the on on/off button flashes very rapidly when the fault kicks in

Anyone got any ideas before I hit gumtree for a replacement machine??

Thanks

Phil

If the error code interpretation is correct it could also be a fault on the eprom chip or the pcb. Replacing parts in the hope it will fix a fault is way too risky. You have to work out for sure that a part is definitely faulty, but that can be very difficult - even for engineers sometimes. But at least an engineer will often have spare parts to try. If you have to buy each part it's a rabbit hole not worth going down.
