Miele washing machine element keeps breaking

Can any one help? We are currently on our 5th heating element in 3 months on our Miele aller wash washing machine. The element has been replaced 5 times the control board once (last time with a new element) Today its not heating again!! Each element is lasting about a week.

What could be causing an element to break this often? Thanks for any and all help.

I can't think of anything that could cause this. Sorry, but it sounds like something that should be impossible to happen. What kind of elements are being fitted and by whom? Surely they cannot possibly be genuine Miele elements?

Thanks for the update Kat. It has to be faulty parts I'd say. Highly unusual. I've had other people in the past though reporting a spate of failed heating elements although never for a Miele.

So Miele have decided to stop trying to fix my machine. They have refunded the cost of the power Control Unit, which clearly wasn't needed as it didn't soleve the problem, they haven't been charging labour or for the elements as weve gone through so many. They are going to take my machine away and investigate - the person we spoke to is looking for batch issues with the element and they want to test it to find out what went so wrong. On the plus side they have given me 50% off a new machine. Fed up to be spending anything on a new machine but it seems the only way forwards that guarentees being able to wash clothes!

Thanks. That's strange as a faulty batch would exonerate them from any blame really.. Ah well.

Thanks for trying, I'll let you know what they say. i have suggested a faulty batch but they didn't take kindly to the suggestion!

It sounds ludicrous doesn't it - especially with a Miele. I would hope they are treating it very seriously and will get to the bottom of it asap. Please update if they do. It could theoretically be a faulty batch of elements of course, though again, Miele would be the last manufacturer I'd expect that to happen with.

Yes all covered direct by Miele, who have been great, refunded the first element when they fitted the second and have only charged for the power control unit - which i thought must have been the initial problem. But now its not heating again! it just skips the heating part of the cycle. I think they are as flummoxed as you, but that doesn't get my washing done!
