Brand new Beko WTG841B1W not working

Hi,

Any assistance gratefully received.

Brand new Beko WTG841B1W washing machine delivered today.

It has power and water supply but simply will not start in any program. When I press the start button the wash light illuminates but then starts flashing after a few seconds and nothing more happens.

The door lock seems to be working as I hear a click but not entirely convinced.

Any thoughts or advice before I contact the supplier and request a replacement?

I simply unplumbed the old machine and plumbed the new one in, nothing done any different.

It is hardwired into a wall socket.

Many thanks

Simon

If the water supply is not available it may fail to start a wash cycle but that wouldn’t stop it on a spin only cycle, so if spin cycle also won’t start it can’t be that.

As the control panel lights up that eliminates it not being wired up properly too. Only thing left really is door not shutting properly to activate the door lock or a faulty machine (which is unusual).

Does it say anything in instruction manual about that light flashing? Make sure the door seal is seated all around the door rim probably as that can stop door closing properly.

It sounds faulty.

It has but I’ve cleared that and ensured that no delay was set.

Even tried setting it for a few minutes delay and it counts down but never starts.

It’s not got a delay start option that’s accidentally set has it?

If the door actually locks it implies it’s not the door lock although at least theoretically it’s possible for a door to lock but not pass power to the main PCB. I would say it definitely seems to be faulty from the start.

You hear the click of the door lock when you press the start button and it takes a few minutes to release after you’ve turned the machine off but the cycle never starts, I’m wondering if there is a door issue.

Ive checked and rechecked the door seal and all seems fine.

It never even starts the cycle or draws any water in so I can’t see that water pressure could be an issue and my previous machine worked like a charm for 16 years without missing a beat from the same supply.

Wish I had kept the old machine now as it was still going strong.

Exactly what I was thinking too but I have spent all day trying everything I can think of and still no joy. Keep going back to it thinking I’ve missed something but no success and it should surely just be a case of plugging it in, connecting the water feed and waste and off I go

It’s very unusual for one to be faulty as blatantly as that right from the off. Please let us know what it turns out to be.

Manual says nothing about the flashing light. Internet research suggests an issue either with the door lock or main circuit board.

It won’t start any cycle at all, wash, spin, drain, nothing. No issues with power supply or water. Tried varying water pressures but to no avail. Think it’s a dud out of the packaging
