BOSCH WVG30461GB WASHER/DRYER NOT DRYING

Hi. We have a problem with our Bosch Washer / Dryer which keeps tripping and not drying. I reset the thermostat, but it does it again after a couple of washes. In the link below, someone had the same problem back in 2017, but he cleaned the Fan out of fluff. I would like to try the same, but it doesn't give a step by step guide, nor shows any pictures of what to take apart. Can anyone help?

Hi: Do you mean tripping the electrics or tripping a TOC?

Thanks Andy, I'll give that a look.

If the fan is running on dry cycle and you can see that water is trickling into the condenser chamber at the back then blockages are distinct possibilities. These heating chambers usually need resealing with special heat resistant sealant though. Check that water is running into the condenser chamber at the back into the drum to be pumped away. One easy way to do that is to listed out for water regularly being pumped away down the drain during the drying cycle.

Thanks Andy. Do you therefore think then that it could be the same problem as the one in the link I attached, and therefore try and locate and clean the fan? If so, is it the long silver metal tunnel in the picture that needs to be removed to get to the fan?

If the stat or TOC on the dryer is tripping out it's unusual for it to reset. They normally make them one shot only devices these days. That's because if it has a manual reset and someone keeps resetting it without fixing the fault it is not a good idea because it should only trip if it dangerously overheats.

Technically it's possible for bad overloading to cause it but if it still does it with half loads it has to be overheating due to the fan not running, or being blocked or a blockage somewhere in the drying system or condenser chamber. This article hear troubleshoots a similar fault where the TOC doesn't trip but the dryer doesn't dry properly because of a problem with condensing washer dryer hot & steamy

I should also add that I've had an Engineer out twice, he advised that we are overloading the machine the first time he came out, so we decreased the amount of washing by half and it still continued to trip. He came out a second time and cleaned the thermo and the elements but it's still doing it. My wife has never run the drum clean cycle in the three years we've had the machine, so i'm guessing we have the same problem as the original poster.

I'm quite handy with tools, but I don't like attempting something without a little instruction!

Hi Andy. Just the Thermostat. It still washes but won't dry.
