Miele wt945 leak
I had cause to remove the dispenser housing on my Miele WT945 in order to repair a crack, all went well with the repair, and so I thought with the reassembly.
On testing the machine on a wash cycle it filled ok with no problems, it went through the wash cycle again no problems. Then on the first drain cycle the water poured out from the top left rear of the machine, I don't know what you might call the part in question or why the water gushed out of it, so I have added a couple of pictures.
The offending part is the white cap in the second picture, the 3rd picture is the cap disconnected, there's no seal or anything just a small green ball.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Miele WT945 leaked from top left rear after dispenser housing refit
- The problem
- After removing and repairing the dispenser housing on a Miele WT945, the machine filled and washed normally but on the first drain cycle water poured out from a white cap at the top left rear. The poster initially believed there was no seal fitted, only a small green ball.
- Likely cause
- A displaced or missing seal from the refitted pipe/cap assembly. An alternative suggestion in the discussion was overfilling or a restriction causing water to enter that vent/hose area, but this was not confirmed.
- What fixed it
- The poster found the missing seal had fallen inside the machine and become lodged between other parts. After retrieving the seal and reassembling the parts, the leak was resolved. The poster also cleaned the associated pipes while the machine was apart.
- Checks to try
- Observed leak only on first drain cycle
- Inspected the white cap/pipe assembly at the top left rear
- Searched inside the machine and found the missing seal lodged between other parts
- Reassembled the parts with the recovered seal fitted
- Parts or tools mentioned
- seal
- dispenser housing

Is this a steam vent? Is the washing machine overfilling or is the water running into the soap dispenser restricted and flowing into the hose when it shouldn't?
Need Professional Help or Spare Parts?
I'm not sure what it is, but after much searching around I actually found the seal, it had fallen down inside the machine and lodged itself between another couple of parts. ON retrieving it and reasembling the parts problem solved.
I felt a little stupid afterwards by not noticing it missing in the first place. Disasembling all the pipes etc. was so difficult without the correct tools that it must of dropped out with out me noticing.
Still while it was all in pieces I cleaned all the pipes etc. thoroughly, so a worthwhile venture.
