I am currently the proud owner of a Miele W 3740 washing machine. Look out for a big review of it soon (I'll post a link here when it's ready)

In the mean time anyone interested in buying a Miele W 3740 should be aware that many sites say there is a 24 hour delay start function on this washing machine and there definitely isn't. The Miele site now has the corrected version of the specifications but many retailing sites have copied this erroneous fact and still display it.

Here is the review - Miele W 3740 review

I thought it was about time I practised what I preach. I had the Dyson CR01 washing machine before - even though it wasn't in the same class as a Miele - but I got it very cheap and Mrs Washerhelp liked how quickly it washed due to the contra rotating drum.

This Miele W 3740 is very classy indeed.

Mistakes like this happen everywhere, we all do them, but I agree, it's twice as disappointing from such a well respected manufacturer. I'm sure they will appreciate the feedback. If you bought any product and subsequently discovered it didn't have an important feature that was advertised you should be entitled to a full refund, or may be able to negotiate a little compensation.

As it happens I don't need the 24 hour delay feature and would never use it to be honest. This is because I don't believe it is safe to leave any white goods appliance running when we are out or in bed! - How dangerous are our white goods appliances?

what would happen if you had got this machine and this delay start was in fact a feature you wanted. this is in fact a feature i want and use regularly.

surely their misleading information would entitle you to your money back to get a machine that did this function.

I have found inconsistencies in miele's specifications also on their webiste as i now own a miele oven (H4641) Hob (KM548) and Extractor (DA446-4). there was an inconsistency regarding another model of oven i was considering.

to be honest i would have thought these errors would not happen from a manufacturer of what can arguable be the best appliances around.

just to let you know i had the same problem when i purchased my Miele W 3444 12 months ago. I was told that this machine had a delay start but when i had it installed i found this to be untrue.

but i have got round that problem, I set and start the machine and then switch the plug in timer off and when it clicks back on in the early hours of the morning it just compleats the programe.

off the record i was told to do this by miele tec support and it does work and i think it should do with most machines of miele.

let me know if it works on yours.
