Beko WM 74155 Program Timer sill not advance from start

Beko WM 74155 LW

If I start a washing cycle the drum turns back and forward for about 60 seconds+ then stops.

The timer never counts down, thus no wash completed.

Rinse and

Spin and Drain works fine.

Forum refused to recognise a standard MP4 file that works everywhere else.

Given suitable instructions I am capable of replacing parts.

If fault is main controler I may not fix as that is over £85

That looks like it is washing without any water inside. If it is you need to stop putting it on the wash cycle in that condition in case the heating element is being energised. Normally when the washing machine is switched on to wash cycle it fills up with cold water for about five seconds or so, then it pumps out the water that it has just flushed in and then starts to fill up properly and starts to agitate the drum and then heat up the water. One possible cause for something like this is one of the fill valve's is not letting water in. The initial influx of water is usually from the cold water valve that is used on the rinses. Then when the initial flush there was okay then it starts to fill up properly a separate valve is energised to flush the detergent into the drum. If this main fill valve for flushing the detergent is not working then it could account for the washing machine's behaviour, and as the other valve that is used on the rinses and for the initial flush is clearly working okay that would explain why works okay on rinses.

Having said that it seems strange that the pump is only energised for what looks like one second that it should be energised for much longer than that. I initially wondered if the pump was faulty but that can't be the case if it is working alight on rinses in Spain.

Hi Andy

Thanks for your prompt reply and further guidance.

The machine is at my daughters house, I will have a look at at some stage in the near future.

Hello Colin. There are no diagrams publicly available. You need to identify and check the valve though not just order a part. It could turn out to be a faulty connection or broken wire, or it may be nothing to do with the valve. There will be a small hose leading from a valve to the part of the dispenser that flushes water into the compartment containing the washing detergent. That needs checking for connection faults and continuity with a test meter. The valve is probably a double valve which would come as a complete part.

Thanks for your comments Andy.

Firstly, I did set to a cold wash so hopefully the heating element will be OK.

Note - Video on Google drive is not playing at the minute but I have re-watched original, I do hear the pump operating for 5 seconds as soon as I press start.

I understand your comments about "separate valve is energised to flush the detergent into the drum".

Is there a name for this valve, so I could consider ordering and fitting.

Any suggestions where I could find a repair manual, or exploded view of parts, so I can identify parts and location. (Googgle search does not bring up anything obvious)

Any suggestion for a better way to diagnose (I will turn to cold wash)?

Thanks ColinK
