In the process of kitchen rebuilt, and we are intending to go with either integrated, or semi-integrated laundry rather then freestansing - I realise this limits the options! these are the only 2 machines I have shortlisted, being the :

AEG L14510 1400 spin

Miele W2839i WPM SS 1600 spin

If there are any other high quality machines I`ve missed, please point these out, but don`t want to buy any old "tat" - already rulled out the Bosch/Siemens versions as know 3 different owners of these as integrated, all have had issues. Our existing machine is a AEG 88730 Update 1800 spin bought in 2000 which cost about £600, still going strong 7 years later, and never had an issue with it, but times change and it won`t go with the new kitchen layout.

I`m concerned that the newer AEG model is not going to be anywhere as near well made as our existing AEG, which is ultra quiet, even when spinning at full speed! I would assume the Miele would be as quiet as our old AEG (or even quieter would be nice!), but would like some feedback from anyone whom ownes this Miele or the freestanding version, especially when even with the deal I`ve found makes it double the price of the new AEG! probably worth it with the 10 year warranty now, but still a lot of dosh!

Anyone got either of the above machines?

There's a big leap in quality between the AEG and the Miele (as there is with most other makes of washing machine). I doubt the new AEG washing machine would be as well made as your old one but it could still be a decent washer for the money. I would expect it to be of similar quality to the Siemens though. The Miele model you mention is very pricey, but it will be much higher in build quality than your old AEG. It should also be even quieter as it's fitted with the silent professional motor, plus as you say it has a 10 year cover. It is a lot of money though, a difficult choice.
