Advice please - Siemens filter housing
Hi,
I have a Siemens IQ300 and took out the filter to clean it. I needed to use grips because it was stuck with scale. I can see that the bit that the filter screws into is cracked in two places. It looks like a big washer but it wont come out. The machine now leaks underneath at the front. :-(
Is it possible to buy the housing unit that the filter screws into or is it a whole new pump? I can see plenty of places to buy a new filter to screw in but I need the other part and not sure what it is called!
Trying to work out if the cost will be worth calling someone out or if I should just buy a new machine. It is 5 years old and just out of the guarantee now and working fine until I decided to clean the filter!
Model number :
WM12Q391GB/08
Thanks for any advice.
Lynn

Siemens WM12Q391GB/08 leaking after cracked pump filter housing
- The problem
- After removing a stuck drain filter on a Siemens IQ300 washing machine, the original poster found the part the filter screws into was cracked in two places. The machine then leaked from underneath at the front. Model given: WM12Q391GB/08.
- Likely cause
- Cracking of the pump filter housing/seating where the filter screws in, causing a leak. The accepted reply indicates this part is not normally supplied separately and is generally only available as part of a complete pump assembly.
- What fixed it
- The accepted advice was that the filter housing itself is not usually sold on its own; the repair would normally involve replacing the complete pump, unless only the filter or filter seal were required. No exact repair carried out by the original poster was confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Filter was removed for cleaning
- Housing area where the filter screws in was found cracked in two places
- Leak was observed underneath at the front
- Parts or tools mentioned
- grips
- complete pump
- pump filter
- pump filter seal
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hi. As far as I know you can only ever buy either a complete pump, or a pump filter and/or pump filter seal.

Thanks very much for your help.
Back in the day you could buy any part for a pump. Any screw, seal, bolt etc
That’s when they were very well made, but now they are just really cheap plastic and basic.
