washing machine randomly stops during washing cycle. LED indicators show that it's still in the program, but motor does not spin, and water is not going in. Used to happen about 50% of the time on the koch/bunt program, but not on the easy-care program, up until today when it wouldn't finish either. It has never displayed any error codes, and in diagnostic mode, where you should see the entire history of error codes, it didn't display any either.

Hello. When it stops, does it stop forever? Or does it stop for a specific time, and then suddenly start up again? Have you tried leaving it for half an hour or more when it stops to see exactly what happens?

Some washing machines may do what's called static heat, whereby everything shuts off except the heating element for some time. Something like that shouldn't last for too long though, so if it does, there may be a fault. One possibility is that maybe the heating element is not working. However, that should trigger an error code as all modern washing machines monitor the water temperature and if the temperature does not raise by a certain amount within a certain amount of time it knows that the water is not been heated up and therefore abort with an error code. It could take half an hour or so before that happens.
