hi, i have an old (11 years) ce84 candy washing machine which has been fabulous. the other day i heard a popping sound and there were orange flashes in the drum. the water/machine was extremely hot. is it an easy to fix fault or do i need to purchase a new one?

11 years old is a respectable age. It is probably better to consider replacement because not only is it at a fairly old age, but new washing machines are now using less water and less energy as well as being better at washing.
