Bosch WTN85201 door glass replacement difficult due to non-obvious door assembly
- The problem
- A Bosch WTN85201 condenser dryer had a cracked door glass. The owner had the replacement glass but could not work out how to dismantle the door because there were no visible screws and the door would not separate easily.
- Likely cause
- The discussion suggests the door is likely a tightly clipped or twist-lock two-part assembly rather than a screwed-together design. It was also considered that some models are effectively not intended to be dismantled without damage.
- What fixed it
- Recommended action was to first check carefully for any hidden screws, such as under stickers. As no hidden screws were found, the most supported advice was that the outer and inner door sections may need to be prised apart with a very thin screwdriver, or possibly twisted to release, with a risk of damage. The exact successful repair was not confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Checked for visible screws
- Checked for hidden screws under stickers
- Looked at exploded diagrams suggesting the door may twist to release
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Replacement door glass
- Very thin screwdriver
Safety: Take care when prising or twisting the door assembly, as damage to the door parts or injury from the cracked glass is possible. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hello Phil. These days they seem to be designed to be not taken apart. In fact some are definitely not able to be taken apart. However, if they sell the door glass separately then surely it must be able to be taken apart. The outer cover is probably pushed over the inner one and it will be a very tight fit. If there are definitely no screws anywhere you must have to prise the two parts away from each other with a very thin screwdriver. It may well not be possible to do it without causing some damage.

Just make absolutely sure there's no hidden screw like under a sticker.

i'll double check but I couldn't feel anything.Phil.
Nah theres no hidden screw.Looking at the exploded diagrams I've found it looks as if needs a good twist to release it.But my best twist doesnt seem to be good enough.
