Burned out Beko power PCU
Hi
My Beko WDR8540121W power board has burned out.
I was goint to order a replacement board: https://www.bekospares.co.uk/washing-machine/wdr8540121w-7161545600/power-card/product.pl?pid=5330457&path=110919&model_ref=14082846
But I thought I'd ask first about it here first. Would the board work straight out the box if I replaced it? Or would it need to be reprogramed?
Beko are no help I tried calling them and emailing them and they just fobed me off, after almost burning my house down!

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Beko WDR8540121W burned power board with cause not established
- The problem
- The washing machine, model Beko WDR8540121W, has a burned-out power board (power PCU/power card). The original question asked whether a replacement board would work straight from the box or need programming.
- Likely cause
- Not established. The accepted reply raised concern that another underlying fault may have caused the board to become badly damaged, which could also damage a replacement board.
- What fixed it
- No confirmed repair was documented. The strongest supported advice was to identify what caused the board to burn out before fitting a new one, because replacing the board alone could result in the new board failing as well. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.
- Checks to try
- Visual evidence that the power board had burned out
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Power board / power PCU / power card
Safety: Because the board reportedly burned out and there was concern about a possible underlying fault, further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

My main concern would be what caused it to get so badly damaged. If some other fault caused it then it could fry a new one.
