Hi all,

Happy New Year.

I captured a video of the problem with my Miele W1 PowerWash&TwinDos. This happens only during fast turning stage. More importantly, she the fire sparks at 5th second of the video. What do you think the problem might be? I am a handy man, so, I would appreciate if you can guide me to fix this problem.

Thank you

Hi. I would guess the drum may be catching on something metal causing a friction spark?

Or could there be something electrical flashing? Looks a bit dangerous to run. Disconnect the motor belt and run the motor on its own. If the noise disappears it's definitely something wrong inside or with the drum. Until the belt is disconnected a noise could always be coming from the motor.

Thanks for the updates. It sounds strange but can't put my finger on exactly what it is. I don't know if there's a problem with a bearing although it doesn't sound like that. Or a problem with the drum spider. It would have to be stripped down to investigate.

Ok, another video. I have removed the belt and turn the drum by hand. Notice the noise. It is strange that the noise only comes when I turn the drum clockwise. The noise doesnt appear anti clockwise. I dont know what you think but this doesnt sound good to me.

@Whitegoodshelp (Andy), hi again.

I have dismantled the machine and wanted to share my findings. Please see my video here:

Please notice the color chance on the metal due to friction. The color chance is only at the side where the corner of the drum became sharp.

Thank you @Whitegoodshelp (Andy). I will take some extra videos when I get into it.
