LG Washing Machine - working fine, except when trying to fill up with water.
Hi.
Does anyone know what could be the issue here?
Our washing machine works fine, except when I start a wash, it sounds like it’s attempting to pull the water into the washing machine several times before actually fill up.
(Not sure if this is useful information but we live in a 1970 block, we have a dishwasher and washing machine attached one pipe using a splitter. (not a plumber so might not be explaining this well))
Thanks!

Hi. Yes it sounds like the water valve is energised for just a fraction of a second. It does sound like some water goes in. So that would suggest that there is a supply of water to the valve, and that the valve is capable of opening and letting water in. It just sounds like the valve is not getting a proper supply of voltage.
It is possible for the valve to be faulty, I've had water valves in the past where when I carefully moved the wire up and down the water valve switched on and off. This was caused by a faulty connection inside the water valve just where the amp tag connects to the coil. It is rare though.
Another possibility is that something is just gone wrong with the PCB. Unfortunately it's very difficult fault to investigate so you may need to get an engineer to look at it.
Regarding the water supply being shared by the dishwasher via a white piece. That should be fine as long as you never put them both on at the same time.
