Hey everyone, may someone had experience with that issue

Hotpoint NSWM743UW 2.5 years old

Flashing f01 fault and doing that clicking noise. It can load programme - pump in water and drain out but doesn't perform any washing function. It takes water in but doesn't spin at all. Always doing that clicking noise during cycle, seems the noise is in the bottom area where's motor. I had 30mins programme but at the end where's 1 minute, it takes maybe 10-15 mins to finish the programme. It pumps out water with no issues at the cycle. I check connectors, taken out front top PCB board out didn't see any burns or something like that. A bit confuse where to look. At the end of programme all lights flashing and still doing that clicking noise.

Hello there. If the drum does not turn, and therefore the motor is not turning, then that would tie in with the explanation of Hotpoint's F1 error code that I have. This is listed as a motor triac short. As far as I know this part would be a component inside the control module or PCB. The possible causes are just listed as check motor and module connections.

They are listing the fault as an actual component that has shorted out, but just advised to check motor and module connections. Whether they are implying that this error code can also be caused by faulty connections, or that the cause of the shorting out of this part can be caused by faulty connections I do not know. (What is a motor triac?)

My error code book is now 16 years old. So it's possible that Hotpoint have changed how they define their error codes. I can't imagine why they would do so, but it's possible. So we can't be sure that the F1 error code in my book is definitely relevant to your machine.

So apart from disconnecting the washing machine from the mains, and checking the connections and wiring to the motor and the module there's not much else you can do. You could obviously check the rest of the motor just in case, especially if it has carbon brushes fitted, to make sure they are not completely worn out or charred and burnt.

But if you are tempted to replace the module, this would be a gamble.

Excellent. I have an article on Whitegoodshelp where I describe how unreliable washing machine error codes can be. I will put a link to this topic in there. I’ve seen many examples where the error code given was completely useless.

I bought new brushes and changed jammed one also all brush case was damaged you cant even open it without brake it and it's start spining again!!! Machine is 2.5 years old. Model:

So symptoms was :

clicking noise from pcb board.

F01 error which is saying about faulty pcb board or motor triac short.

Drum not spining at all but machine can pump in and pump put water.

Hopefully it's permanent fix 🙏

Thanks for your help.

Looks like one has jammed. If it’s actually worn that’s a hell of a weird thing. I have a link to spares site in my signature for Ransom Spares. I’d go there and look up the carbon brushes for your model.

Thank you very much for informative answer. Hotpoint pointing specifically to pcb board fault and maybe triac component. What i find out that clicking sound from pcb board can make relays and worth to check brushes on motor because worn brushes not allow to start motor. I take off 2 brushes and they very different on wearing. May you can advise or that 1 brush need to be replaced? Maybe that's reason why everything is working and worn brush not allow to start motor?
