Does The 10-yr Guarantee Include Limescale Damage?
It's been suggested to me that as a guarantee may not include limescale damage, then unless I'm in a softwater area I'll probably still need to replace the washing machine before the 10 years is up?
Just when I thought I'd made up my mind to pay the extra and go ahead! Can you give me any advice on this?

Hello. No guarantee would include limescale damage, which is something external and nothing to do with the washing machine. However, limescale can't damage your washing machine if you use the correct dosage of detergent (I would recommend using a good quality one too). Laundry detergent contains water softening agents and is designed to protect the washing machine in all areas of the UK (how to prevent limescale in washing machines.
If concerned, I would use some limescale removing product designed for washing machines in the maintenance wash to prevent smells and gunge which should be done about once a month (see linked article for details).

OK, thanks again. Even if we went for a cheaper one with a shorter guarantee we would still do a maintenance wash regularly, so maybe the better quality model with 10-yr guarantee would work out better for us.
