Candy washing machine flashing 14 times, stopping before drain/spin
- The problem
- The Candy washing machine stops during the programme and will not drain or spin automatically. The pump filter was cleaned, and the machine can be operated manually to drain and spin. The fault indication reported was 14 flashes.
- Likely cause
- The accepted reply states that on Candy Grando Series models, error 14 means missing water heating, with likely causes given as a defective NTC probe, defective heating element, or related wiring fault. This was presented as conditional on the code applying to this exact machine.
- What fixed it
- Clean the pump filter was already done, but the accepted diagnosis pointed instead to a heating circuit fault. The recommended action from the discussion was to investigate the heater, NTC probe/thermostat, and associated wiring. The exact repair carried out was not confirmed in the thread.
- Checks to try
- Observed 14 flashes
- Machine stops during programme
- Will not drain or spin automatically
- Manual drain/spin still works
- Pump filter cleaned

The only Candy error codes I have for Candy that go up to 14 are for the Candy Grando Series where error 14 is listed as meaning -
"Missing Water Heating: defective NTC probe and/or defective water heating element and/or wiring".
If this error applies to your washing machine it seems the heater isn't working for some reason hinted at in the description. The NTC is the thermostat usually pushed inside a tube of the heater or placed in the outer tub close to the heater. It should have two wires on it. It is filled with temperature sensitive crystals which change their electrical resistance at different temperatures. They normally have a high resistance reading at room temperatures and are not easily tested without knowing the exact resistance measurements.
