Hotpoint Ultima Should Washing Come Out Hot And Steamy?

We had bought this model of washer/dryer last week, installed last Thursday.

After each drying cycle, when the door is opened, there is a lot of steam comes from the drum and the clothes are hot.

Is this to be expected, or is there a fault.

As far as I understand the handbook, there is supposed to be a cool tumble before the end of the cycle.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Yes there should be a cooling down period. Make sure no one is turning the cold water tap off prior to running the dryer as the dryer part needs a steady trickle of cold water running into the condenser chamber to get rid of the steam. If the clothes are hot and wet there's probably a fault.
