Hotpoint Wd129 Wash/dry Cycles Mixed Up

I have a Hotpoint BWD129 washer dryer. It has started getting some of the wash and dry cycles mixed up on the cycle selector. For example if I try to just dry or rinse, it starts a full wash cycle. It also fails to dry at the end of a wash/dry cycle, although I can get the dryer to work separately. Sometimes it will not complete the rinse at the end of a wash cycle, leaving the washing wet. It also does not now dry very well, although I have had the dry cycle checked and have been told by an engineer that it is reaching the right heat level. Is this a PCB fault? I am thinking of trying a new PCB as a last resort

It sounds like the kind of fault we used to get when the control know broke or came loose and went out of sync so it wasn't showing the proper programme it was pointing to. The tell tale sign of that though was that if left to run the machine would complete a cycle but the control knob didn't finish on a finish section. That showed it was out of line. If it isn't anything to do with that I wouldn't start guessing at parts, especially something as expensive as a pcb
