Electra Machine (Italy) And Scraping With Load...help Please?

I have an old Electra AWM900A Eco (front loading) machine given to us by friends.

In fairness they warned us that it used to make a noise although otherwise functional.

Basically when any weight is put into drum I will make a very nasty scraping noise on rotation.

Experimenting with turning with hand pushing inside drum revealed it does so at bottom of drum (and when machine upside down The inverted top side).

Having read thru your trouble shooter I examined the sump hole for bra straps etc-nothing obstructing.

The spiders are all intact and outer/inner drums not split.

I can only assume that it may be an issue with the agitator? Certainly feels almost like a positional problem.

As a side note when the drum scrapes, the area scraping causes the door rubber to gape and work slightly loose if that helps.

Really looking for some help as i dont have the cash to go get another and I am fairly mechanically able but washers are new territory :-)

Thanks.

Sorry I missed this. Gentle metallic scraping noises can often be just a bra wire trapped under the drum. It's possible for one to be stuck so that you can't get to it from the sump hose though. Could the drum have been knocked out of shape by a coin or other obstruction? Is the lip of the drum badly out of true? Is there any up and down play on the shaft?

If it is a bra wire stuck inside this will help - removing an obstruction from the drum
