Hotpoint Wdd960 - Intermittently Does Not Respond To Buttons
Our hotpoint WDD960P sometimes doesn't respond to button presses. Usually, we leave it alone for a minute or 2 before trying again; this can take up to 5 or 6 attempts before it actually responds to the button press.
It's irritating as it can prevent the machine turning on easily, not to mention trying to set up a complicated cycle which requires a lot of button presses.
I'm a service engineer by trade but I am used to laboratory equipment! Do you think it is the main PCB behind the buttons/display which is at fault? I can't make out if there is another PCB hidden away somewhere other than the one in the front panel.
Could do with a service manual or some advice!

The pcb behind the control panel usually just controls a main pcb further inside the washing machine. There are no service manuals freely available but they wouldn't help much with a fault like this anyway. If it was just one button I'd be fairly sure it was a problem with the control panel pcb but if it's affecting lots of buttons it's less obvious. There may be a communication problem between the two pcbs. Apart from checking the connections it may be better to get an engineer in.
