Miele Inlet Hose
Hi
I saw the following advertised as an inexpensive replacement for the waterproof inlet hose system that Miele uses. Does anybody have an opinion about it's reliability? Is it available more cheaply elsewhere? Thanks for any help.
MIELE CONVERSION KIT FOR WPS INLET
1 X CONVERSION KIT FOR THE W800 & 900 SERIES WPS AQUASTOP MACHINES.
MACHINE NOT FILLING? LIGHTS FLASHING ON FACIA!!!...THE BIG QUESTION IS..IS IT THE AQUAHOSE AT FAULT?...COST APPROX £190+ ..OR THE TRIPLE INLET VALVE?..COST APPROX £100+. OR BOTH???
THIS IS GETTING EXPENSIVE ON A 15+ YEARS OLD MACHINE.
NOT TO WORRY...THIS KIT REPLACES THE INLET HOSE FOR A NORMAL TYPE..IT ALSO REPLACES THE TRIPLE INLET VALVE. SO FOR LESS THAN £70 YOU HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM, AND REPLACED THE INLET SYSTEM. IF YOU EVER NEED ANOTHER INLET HOSE YOU CAN POP DOWN B£Q AS ITS A STANDAND WASHING MACHINE HOSE.
YOUR MACHINE WILL STILL HAVE THE ANTIFLOOD DEVISE WORKING UNDERNEATH BUT IT WON'T NOW COVER THE INLET HOSE.BUT LETS BE HONEST WHEN DID THAT LAST LEAK IN THE LAST 15 ODD YEARS?
KIT CONSISTS OF 1 X 2.5M COLD INLET HOSE 10 BAR 25DEG MAX.3/4ins BSP ends
1 X TRIPLE INLET VALVE (+SPECIAL COVERSION PLATE)
3 X JUBILEE CLIPS
THSI KIT IS MADE FOR THE W900 SERIES ONLY W902 W906 W916 W919 W930 W931I W937 W939 W969 W970 W980 W989I

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Miele WPS inlet hose conversion kit queried for W800/W900 series
- The problem
- The query was about whether an inexpensive aftermarket conversion kit for Miele WPS/Aquastop inlet systems was reliable and worth using as a replacement for the original waterproof inlet hose system on older W800 and W900 series washing machines.
- Likely cause
- No appliance fault was confirmed. The discussion only supports that the kit is essentially a standard fill hose, and that if the original aqua hose had failed, only the hose itself would normally be needed rather than the included triple inlet valve.
- What fixed it
- The accepted advice was that the advertised kit offered little value because the hose is just a normal inlet hose available cheaply elsewhere, and the included triple valve was said to be unnecessary if the aqua hose alone has failed. A genuine Miele aqua stop hose retains leak protection, but was reported as very expensive. If a standard hose is used instead, the inlet hose loses that protection.
- Checks to try
- Confirm whether the original aqua hose has actually failed
- Consider whether retaining inlet-hose leak protection is important for the machine's location
- If using a standard hose, turn off the water tap when the machine is not in use if possible
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Standard washing machine fill hose
- Genuine Miele aqua stop hose
- Triple inlet valve
Safety: Using a standard hose removes the original inlet-hose leak protection. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

All they are selling is a normal hose, one you can buy anywhere including at 4washerhelp.co.uk or even B&Q for less than a fiver. The triple valve they include isn't needed is it? If the aqua hose has failed then the hose only should be required.
If you replace the hose with a normal fill hose then the hose is not protected from splitting or leaking. They rarely do anyway, but having the protection may be useful depending on where the washing machine is situated. If you go down this route try to turn off the tap when not in use if you can. I wrote this article explaining more about these hoses here - What is the aqua stop hose and do you have to use it?
The price of the genuine Miele aqua stop hoses are pretty horrendous. The cheapest I can find is £126 and I can see one at £310 which is more than some washing machines. It's been claimed that these prices are much higher than you can buy them from Miele, but Miele discourage people from buying them as you cannot order any online through their official site. The only accessories they sell online are things like filters and product optional extra accessories. It may be that if you telephone Miele they will quote you for one, and I would be very interested in the price they quote. Sadly, the current situation appears to be that Miele don't seem keen to sell spares to the public so the only ones available online are from independent spares sellers who have to add their profit on top instead of getting generous trade discount. The result? Anyone looking into buying Miele spares will be horrified at the cost of some of them, and that cannot be good for Miele.
