Removing A Motor From A Hotpoint

Hi,

I have a Hotpoint WF440P washing machine which is about 7 years old. It stopped working completely. When start button is clicked, nothing happens at all for a few minutes and then the Door Locked light flashes. This continues until machine is switched off.

I have looked at all the FAQ's and common faults on this site and others and it would appear that the carbon brushes may need replacing. I have consulted several videos on how to do this and feel I could do it - but I cannot get the motor out of the machine to check the brushes.

My problem is that the motor is fitted underneath the drum. It is accessible through a small panel and I have loosened nuts and removed electric connections but I cannot remove the motor from its housing.

Can anyone help? Is there a secret way in?

Thanks in anticipation,

barb

Have you tried getting in from underneath with the machine laid on its front?

I had tried but without success. However a very nice repair man came out today and was able to extract thecarbon brushes that way without having to remove the motor!

Thanks for the reply.
