Hotpoint Washing Machine Wm22 Drum Not Turning
Hi there
After +10 years of service with a few new parts on the way the drum has stopped turning. All other functions OK eg fill, drain etc. Bushes are OK, electrical connections OK, belt is fine, it has power ie light is on. Have read about the TOC. Can this be easily located and tested? Any other ideas all gratefully received.

The number 1 suspect with Hotpoint washing machines where the motor isn't running is sticking or worn carbon brushes. If the motor is testing out ok then it could be a fault on the module or pcb or a connection fault in the motor plug or wiring harness somewhere. If you can't see any connection problems there's nothing else you can test because you can't actually test the module/pcb only try a new one, which would be expensive if it didn't cure the fault. (There is a company called QER who can test modules and pcbs)

Yes it could.
They are the same thing really, just "printed circuit board". A module is an older term for a pcb, which only supplied and controlled the motor. These days the module's role has been integrated into one main pcb which does everything and is often connected to a control panel pcb.

Checked all the connections and everthing seems OK. Would a faulty PCB potentially stop the drum turning on all cycles?
By the way whats the difference betwen a PCB and a module? Am getting out of my depth here!
A quick follow up on my previous post. I have tested the continuity across the 7 pins and the bushes as advised in a post dating back to 2006 and all are OK but still nothing working. Any advice greatly appreciated.
