Hotpoint Wd860 Stops On 1 Min Left

Hi,

I've got a Hotpoint WD860 washing machine. On all cycles it runs fine, then stops on 1 min for ever. You have to cancel the cycle then rinse & spin.

Any ideas what the fault could be? No lights or warning messages.

Thanks

Hugh

I've had this before, if I remember right an open circuit heating element can cause the washer to stick on wash for a few hours then jump to one minute remaining. However, a heater not working should cause a time out much quicker than that and result in a proper error code. There's some anomaly that can allow this to happen though, if I remember right it could be if the heater goes open circuit during a wash it causes no error code to be displayed. It's worth checking the heater if you know how, but otherwise get an engineer in.
