I can't "customise" wash settings like I want to
Hi
I would be grateful for your help please. Up until now we have always used the pre-set washings cycles on our "Indeset Eco". However, now we need to use a 30 degree wash that is only included for sports ware and not regular clothing. The preset cycles have a 20 and 40 degree wash. When I follow the instructions and set the preferred temperature and spin the number that the PRE-SET dial is set at takes over!! That dial has to be set at SOME number but whatever that number is wins out over my selected personalisation cycle.
Can you advise what we are doing wrong please.
Thanks a lot
John

Hello John, I hope I'm interpreting your question correctly. Customising programs is very useful but the software will never let us set any settings which they deem inappropriate. It could be that some of the settings you are trying to customise are not allowed. For example if you customise a delicates program you will not be able to set a fast spin or any temperature high enough to do any damage to the laundry. Could this be relevant or am I am the wrong track?

Also can't a normal cottons wash be used and just customise the temperature down to 30 degrees?
I've found a lot of 30 degree wash cycles on many washing machines are rubbish, and only useful for very specific items. I wrote an article about that a while back called Washing machines with a 30 degree wash cycle describing how if you want to do a normal wash but at reduced temperature many washing machines just won't let you. So anyone wanting to have a proper 30 degree wash option should check carefully before buying.
Generally speaking, if a wash cycle won't let you pick specific options whilst customizing wash cycles it's because they have programmed it to not let you.

Not to get nit-picky about temperatures (again!) and this might not be much use to your question, but shouldn't sportswear have a hotter wash anyway if it's all sweaty and dirty? I've never come across anything that can't be washed on 40 minimum and would be tempted to crank it up to 50 or 60 for such items.
