Lg Top Load Control Cycle Knob Is Binding
Hello all,
I have a top loader that is only 4 years old. Ive had the repair people out to work on the
cycle knob binding before and it works for about 6 months and then start to bind when turning
the knob left or right. It starts out binding on the left side and then seems to move around to the
other side if your just sitting there spinning the knob. Are these one assembly? Are they pretty easy
to replace? Anyone know why this is happening and maybe I can dissasemble and repair myself?
The knob works but it's just really anyoing when its not turning freely like it should. Thanks

It sounds like a potential design fault unless by any chance it is just getting stiff due to dirt and grease getting into the works by any chance? Unfortunately I don't work on top loaders. Does WD-40 loosen it up by any chance?
Need Professional Help or Spare Parts?
If this has happened regularly since it was pretty new you should be able to complain to the retailer under the sale of goods act saying it has a faulty or inherent fault although only I'm advising on UK issues only. Alternatively I'd complain to the manufacturer although they usually don;t want to know once out of the their guarantee.

Nope....its an internal problem I think. If you go to any home depot or Lowes and can sit there and easily spin those all day long.
Mine used to do that but it started to bind up. It's almost like the rubber boot indide is not aligned properly. Dont really want
to pay for someone to come out a fix it though...
