What is a good new washing machine to buy?
Hi all,
My trusty old Zanussi has finally given in and I have therefore decided that it's time to treat myself to a new machine. I'm new to this kind of thing as my Zanussi is about 25 years old and therefore things have obviously changed a fair bit since I bought it. I'm a single guy so I don't need to be washing clothes every week which obviously means that the machine will be only subjected to fairly light use. I'd be looking to spend £300 to £350ish (unless there is something for less which will do me for what I need) If I can get one which will last half as long as my Zanussi I'll be happy !!
Any pointers would be very much appreciated as I need to get one reasonable quickly now that I'm without a machine.
Thanks very much.
Best wishes,
Dave.

I'm afraid you won't find anything nearly as well made as a 25 year old Zanussi unless you buy a Miele washing machine.

Need Professional Help or Spare Parts?
With 5 adults I would definitely only recommend a Miele but I appreciate many people don't want to spend £600+ Beko are a budget machine, and most likely designed to only last 3 or 4 years with that kind of usage.

had to change my long lasted hotpoint about 6 months ago. I opted for a 8kg Beko which is serving very well so far. I know it's only early days but it has been doing large washes daily, there are 5 adults here.
Miele are certainly head and shoulders above the rest at the moment for reliability, but if you're looking more at the mid-range, have a look at Bosch, AEG and LG. By modern standards, these have a fairly good reputation for reliability.
Although cheap, the high end Beko models are also worth looking at.
