Stops Mid Cycle
We bought a Samsung WA48H7400A and trying to figure out what we are doing wrong. Occasionally, the load will get to spin cycle and will sit there indefinitely. It sounds like the drum is draining, but it never spins. This has happened approximately 4 out 20 of the last loads. This last time, it sat overnight and was stuck at 11 minutes to go in the cycle. I can't figure out what is causing this. These loads are clothing that don't fill half of the drum. Any help is appreciated.

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Samsung WA48H7400A can stall at spin with small or uneven loads
- The problem
- A Samsung WA48H7400A top-loading washing machine occasionally reaches the spin stage, appears to drain, but then does not spin and remains stuck at 11 minutes remaining. The issue was reported on roughly 4 out of 20 loads, including clothing loads that did not fill half the drum.
- Likely cause
- The strongest supported diagnosis is an out-of-balance condition, particularly with very small or unevenly distributed loads, preventing the machine from completing the spin cycle.
- What fixed it
- The accepted advice was to first check for load balance and redistribute the items in the drum. The discussion supports this as the most likely explanation, but the exact repair or a final confirmation from the original poster was not documented.
- Checks to try
- Observed that the machine reached spin cycle but did not spin
- Noted that the machine sounded as if it was draining
- Load size was less than half a drum
- Check whether the load is very small or unevenly distributed and redistribute items

Yes that's what I would advise first, check my article here - Washing machine won’t spin just one item or very small loads
Need Professional Help or Spare Parts?
I'm not sure this will help but here goes. I have a top loader and it stops when it's out of balance, usually with towels but also with clothing. If it's out of balance then the tub can't spin correctly and the machine will stop. I've had the problem maybe 4 times and each time I have to try to redistribute the items in the tub. Eventually everything works out.
