Bosch Heating Water?

I think our Bosch Classixx 1000 Express might not be heating the water because the washing is coming out stone cold even after a 60 deg. wash. I'm sure it used to feel slightly warm on removal but I'm beginning to wonder if I am imagining this! I have checked the manual but it says nothing about rinse temperature. The cycle is working normally otherwise. Is there any way I can check whether there is a fault? It's a few years old now and out of its guarantee. Thanks.

Bosch Classixx 1000 Express laundry coming out cold after 60°C wash

The problem
The owner of a Bosch Classixx 1000 Express washing machine thought it might not be heating because washing came out stone cold after a 60°C programme, although the cycle otherwise operated normally.
Likely cause
No confirmed fault was identified. The accepted reply stated that laundry should come out cold because the machine rinses in cold water, especially noticeable in cold weather.
What fixed it
No repair was required. The accepted advice was that cold laundry at the end of the cycle is normal and does not by itself indicate a heating fault.
Checks to try
  • Observed that washing was stone cold after a 60°C wash
  • Confirmed the cycle was working normally otherwise
  • Checked the manual, which did not mention rinse temperature

Hello Cazziet, the laundry should come out cold, and in cold weather it should be stone cold - Should the washing come out warm or cold?

Thank you, I thought it would probably be rinsing in cold water. I suppose it is an act of faith that the water heater is working properly, as long as the washing seems clean after the cycle!
