Bosch Exxcel Will Not Heat Water
I have read the relevant discussion on this matter but thought someone might be able to help as this problem seems to have other causes.
I have a Bosch W/M model WFO2865 UK/1. It starts the wash cycle and runs out of time - it does not move on to the rinse cycle. It performs the wash action. I then changed the heating element, it turned out the element was ok as it reads about 26 ohms but I left the new element in the machine anyway. I then tried the NTC sensor, it reads about 5000 ohms so it is working. I then tried the machine and poured in hot water manually, the wash cycle went through and progressed to the rinse and spin. So I assume the NTC is not faulty. I then checked the pressure switch. I disconnected and blew into he hose to unblock any blockage, there was none. I blew into the switch, it clicks only once although there are 4 contact terminals on it. Water level is normal in wash or rinse mode. So, I now use the machine by manually feeding it with 10 liters of hot water (not very hot, perhaps around 50c) to start it and it completes the cycle (30 or 40 c program). What could be the cause the problem? There are no loose wires or connections either. I wonder if the water level pressure switch feeds the heating element? Is it suppose to click once? why 4 wire are connected to it?

If it works when you put hot water in but not when you don't then I would think it isn't heating the water up for some reason. If it was heating the water but the thermistor was faulty it should get too hot. It should be giving an error code really. Maybe the pressure switch should click twice, they usually have a secondary one to energise the pump if the water level got too high.
Try adding the same amount of water, but make it cold or just luke warm to see if it is the addition of more water which is causing it to work OK or the addition of HOT water. If the former the problem could be related to water levels.

Pressure switches are normally pretty reliable but it does sound like it's worth a try. I would expect there should be 2 clicks when you blow up it. You can buy spare parts from Washerhelp which has the largest stocks of spares in the UK - 4washerhelp spare parts

Thanks for the reply. I selected 30c wash cycle and started. It took water and started the wash action, I thought the water level was a bit low, I added 5 liters of cold water. It then continued with the wash and progressed to rinse cycle, I touched the glass door and it felt warm. So, problem seems to be the water level pressure switch. The element heats the water at higher water level. I also noted that when it goes to the rinse cycle, water level is low, quite below the rim of the drum. But when I put it on the rinse cycle which is 20 minutes long, it takes water at a higher level, about two inches above the rim level. Should I replace the pressure switch?
