Bosch Not Heating Water / Filling With Water ?
Hi all,
I've just bought a Bosch WAB28061GB - installed today & have done a couple of loads. I'm not sure that its heating the water - the door window feels cold to the touch (washing at 60 degrees). Also, as my last washer lasted 20 + years I understand that water usage is different on new machines but how can I tell if the right amount of water is being allowed to fill the machine ? I can't see any 'pool' of water in the bottom of the door window for example & no suds (even when no conditioner is being used - which I know can reduce suds).
does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to check these things ?
ta !

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Bosch WAB28061GB appears to heat normally and uses a low water level
- The problem
- On a newly installed Bosch WAB28061GB, the owner was concerned that the machine might not be heating water on a 60 degree wash because the door glass felt cold, and was also unsure whether enough water was entering because there was no visible pool of water or many suds.
- Likely cause
- No confirmed fault. The discussion supports that modern washing machines use much less water than older models, so the door glass may not feel hot and the water level may not be visible in the door area.
- What fixed it
- The accepted advice was that many washers use very little water, so a cool door glass is not necessarily a sign of a heating fault. The owner then reran a 60 degree wash and found the door glass became warmer during the cycle, leading them to conclude it was heating. No repair was required or confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Ran another 60 degree wash
- Checked whether the door glass became warm during the cycle
- Observed that no visible pool of water was present in the door window
- Observed low suds

Many washers hardly use any water these days so the door glass may just not get hot. Check out my article here which might help washing machine doesn't seem to be heating the water

thanks Andy - I ran it again of a 60 degree wash & at one point when I checked the door window was warmer so I can only assume it is actually heating the water.
in terms of lack of water / suds then I suppose the difficult thing is that without another machine to compare it to there's really no way to know if it's 'right'. I'll take a look at the article - thanks.
If it's not heating, it shouldn't finish a programme and clean the laundry ok.
