Minimum 60cm waste height query
My parents have just ordered a new Bosch washing machine, I've had a read of the online manual and it stated that the nozzle should be a minimum height of 60cm from ground level for adequate drainage ( presumably ) . I have measured the current nozzle height ( plumbing under the sink ) and it is 50cm from floor level, I have attempted to purchase an angled nozzle to bring the height up but am not having much success. I need 40mm diameter and all I can find are the standard nozzles which won't give me increased height. Any suggestions please of where I can get a 40mm angled nozzle and if 50cm from floor drainage would cause problems thanks

Hello Wayne. I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure the drain hose isn't pushed too far down and it will probably work OK. The drain hose needs to be pushed through the shepherds crook that should come with the machine. You need about 5 or 6 inches of the end of the drain hose at most to stick out from the hook. Just enough to push into the standpipe so it won't fall out. If you push it too far into the standpipe water will siphon out.
If you have problems you might have to extend the pipe but if your previous washing machine worked ok any new when ought to.
Read this article where it's headed, "siphoning water" carefully to understand the issue Washing machine fills and drains at same time - the shepherds hook (or crook) is also mentioned.
