inlet Inlet solenoid

The dryer leaves clothes steaming. Looking at the forum I saw it may be the inlet valve. I checked and the solenoid to the condenser has no reading whilst the other 2 where around 30 ohms.

I checked online for a spare triple inlet valve but the parts conpanies say it is obsolete. Can you replace lust the solenoid or buy an alternative make?

The machine is Siemens WI54430GB/02

Thanks for any help.

How old is this washing machine Ian? I checked and yes quite a few spare parts are listed as obsolete for this model.

Meanwhile if you haven't already, read my article about possible causes for the laundry coming out hot and steamy from a washer dryer - I wouldn't get too involved down the replacement solenoid route unless you can be sure that's what it is. I don't know of any alternative.

Theoretically you can replace one of the solenoids unless they’ve been designed specifically to prevent that. The solenoids however have not been made available by manufacturers that I know of. They just want to supply full water valves.

A long time ago I used to save Hoover solenoids which came off easily and fit them as required but it’s highly unlikely you would be able to source one.

Thanks. It must be 18 yrs. old at least but not used very much so otherwise in good working order. I checked the solenoioid with a multimeter and the blue one ( which feeds the condenser) gives no reading whilst the other 2 do. The solenoid looks as if it is held in oxford lac with screws strings of wondered if it could be clean d or replaced rather than having to replace the whole inlet assembly. Thanks.
