Hi

The rubber seal on my Candy washer dryer GVW496T has come lose. 2 bands fell out, one which I believe is the inner retainer but the other, which is a spring all round and much smaller than the retainer, I had no idea what it is. Does anyone have any idea?

thank you

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Candy GVW496T door seal retaining spring identified

The problem
On a Candy washer dryer GVW496T, the rubber door seal had come loose and two bands had fallen out. The owner believed one was the inner retainer but was unsure about a smaller all-round spring.
Likely cause
The smaller spring is the outer door seal retaining band that secures the seal flange to the rim of the door opening/front cabinet.
What fixed it
Refit the smaller spring retainer to hold the outer part of the door seal onto the front cabinet opening. One of the fallen bands was understood to be the inner retainer; the accepted reply specifically identified the smaller spring as the outer seal retainer.
Checks to try
  • Model identified as Candy GVW496T
  • Two bands had fallen out from the door seal area
